About the artist
Jeremy Earhart is an artist and decorative painter whose life and work have moved between fine art, craftsmanship, and restoration for more than 25 years. With a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Memphis College of Art, Jeremy has built a career working with paint, color, wood, plaster, and historic interiors. His professional work has taken him through New York, Austin, and other places, where he has collaborated with designers, architects, restoration teams, and private clients on everything from high-end residential interiors to historic spaces. His work has included restoration and finishing projects at the Manhattan Library, Grace Church, St. John’s, Trinity Church, and the Brooklyn Library.
Fine art has always remained at the center of Jeremy’s life. He has exhibited his work in New York and internationally, including exhibitions in Berlin, Italy, and abroad, and was represented by Goff + Rosenthal Gallery in New York, where he had a solo exhibition.
Today, Jeremy and his girlfriend reside in Kona, Hawai‘i, with their two dogs. Living on the Big Island has given him a new landscape and source of inspiration, where the colors, textures, light, and natural beauty of Hawai‘i continue to influence both his artwork and his approach to painting. He continues to create his own work while taking on mural, decorative painting, and restoration projects in the Kona community.
About the art..
Influenced in part by childhood nostalgia, music and album cover art. Jeremy Earhart’s mixed media sculptures/ painting / design objects are rifled with historical ornamentation. His work combines new material with traditional methods of craft making. The work is made entirely by hand.
“I use a combination of various images and techniques to arrive at a visual balance and composition. Yet, there remains subjective pieces of a puzzle that the viewer can filter through their own experiences to generate meaning. They are collages, bits of personal memories and information. I’m interested in relics, souvenirs distorting over time, giving parts of the narrative.”
